Cumberland school board members have seated a new member.

The Board seated Pam Ross, who fills a vacancy.

Board members heard the SADD Chapter was awarded a grant for $2,000 for Operation Teen Safe Driving, and thanked the Neal Foundation for a donation to the cheerleading trip to Florida for the Capital One Bowl performance.

The Board voted to purchase band uniforms, which was also funded by the Neal Foundation; discussed the formation of a Bass Fishing Club or Team and decided to address the topic at the November Board meeting; voted to appoint Doug Jones as assistant middle school Scholastic Bowl coach; granted Megan Fulk a family and medical leave act leave; and named Mike Oakley assistant bus supervisor.
