Two cars and a semi were involved in a crash Monday morning near Neoga.

The crash occurred at 7:57am on I-57 northbound, three miles south of Neoga.  State police say a car driven by 19-year-old Demonte Scott of Bloomington hit the rear of a semi driven by 48-year-old Kent Harris of Shell Knob, Missouri and then struck the right side of a car driven by 31-year-old Karen Patel of Mundelein.

Scott's car spun across the median and came to rest northbound in the southbound lanes of the interstate.  Patel's car ran off the roadway to the right.

Scott and his passenger, 42-year-old Michelle Kraft of Eureka were injured and were taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Scott was cited for driving on a suspended license, failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash and not wearing a seat belt.
