Catholic Charities Says Thank You for Food Donations

Catholic Charities officials are offering a Thank You to those who contributed to the agency's food pantry Sunday.

The food drive was one of several initiatives undertaken as part of the annual "Serve Now, Serve Together" weekend.  The effort involved several local churches and other agencies.

The collection went very well, but organizers are aware that there are some parts of the county where food was not gathered as volunteers were stretched thin.

Catholic Charities is encouraging those who had donated items that were not picked up to take them to their headquarters along US Route 40 between Effingham and Teutopolis beginning Tuesday.
