The Village of Teutopolis is growing close to the start of its 175th birthday celebration.

The kickoff will be an Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 19 at the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus outside pavilion, rain or shine.

Activities will include music by the Waterloo German Band at 7pm, an opportunity to meet the 150th Celebration Teutopolis First Ladies at an informational session at 9pm, and music by Plastic Soul at 9:30pm.

The menu will include domestic beer, German beer and wine, brats, sauerkraut soup and pretzels and non-alcoholic beverages.

Advanced tickets are encouraged.  Tickets are $9 for a large mug and free wrist band, and $7 for a small mug and free wrist band.

To purchase tickets, visit Hank Niebrugge at Country Financial, Jerry Runde at Teutopolis State Bank or Jason Runde at First National Bank of Dieterich's Teutopolis branch.

Proceeds from this and all centennial celebration events benefit the Teutopolis Educational Foundation and the Teutopolis Park District.
