Donations Needed for FISH School Supplies; Applications for Supplies are Now Available

Donations of school supplies for Effingham County students are needed by Effingham County FISH Human Services.

The following supplies are especially needed:

--highlighters

--eight count washable markers

--12 count colored pencils

--dry erase markers

--glue sticks

--glue

--pocket folders

--3" x 5" note cards

--loose leaf paper (wide ruled)

--rulers

--24 count crayons

--spiral notebooks (wide ruled)

Donations will be accepted at Save-A-Lot and K-Mart.  Monetary donations also are always welcome and may be mailed to Effingham County FISH, PO Box 473, Effingham, IL 62401.

FISH distributes school supplies to about 350 Effingham County students.

FISH is also now accepting applications for free school supplies.

Those needing supplies for students in Grades K through 8 living in Effingham County must complete an application for assistance by Monday, July 30.  Applications are available at the FISH Service Center at Grove and Maple in Effingham, and at Catholic Charities along Route 40 between Effingham and Teutopolis at 1502 East Fayette Avenue.  Completed applications may be dropped off at the mailbox at the FISH Service Center or at Catholic Charities no later than July 30.

Applications received after July 30 will not be processed.
