The Effingham City Zoning Board of Appeals has granted a variance in a setback requirement for a local couple.
Steven and Pamela Goldstein sought the reduction in a setback on their property at 1726 South Willow from the required 50 feet to 24 feet. The reduction will make room for a six by 38 foot covered porch.
Commissioner Kurt Buehnerkemper, who lives near the Goldsteins, abstained from the vote.
