A Neoga man was injured in a three-vehicle crash Sunday morning.  Details on the crash were made available today by Illinois State Police.

The crash occurred at 10:25am Sunday on US 40, just west of 450th Street.  Police say the cycle operated by 32-year-old Lance Phillips of Neoga attempted to pass a van driven by 39-year-old Timothy Minarick of New Lenox that was turning off the highway into a private driveway.  When he attempted to pass, Phillips encountered an oncoming vehicle driven by 27-year-old Kristopher Curtis of Altamont.  Phillips attempted to pull back into his lane and strck Minarick's vehicle.  That caused Phillips' cycle to slide into the opposite lane where it was run over by the Curtis truck.  Phillips had been thrown clear of the cycle by that time.

Phillips was injured in the incident and was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, and then was transferred to an undisclosed hospital for additional treatment.

Phillips was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Neither Minarick nor Curtis were injured.
