A brother and sister with area ties were the big winners on Sunday night's airing of "The Great Escape" on TNT.

Miles and Megan Stoner teamed up to win a competition over two other couples in escaping from Alcatraz Island, former home of Alcatraz Prison in San Francisco Bay.

They won the $100,000 grand prize.

Miles and Megan's father is Ron Stoner, who lives with wife Colleen in Charleston.  Ron is a former employee of Premier Broadcasting.  Miles Stoner graduated from Charleston High School.

Ron Stoner said his son and daughter, now ages 29 and 27, live in the Dallas, Texas area.  He said they auditioned for the show in February and then taped the show in late February or early March for airing last night.

Miles and Megan were flown to San Francisco and then were taken to their hotel.  They were later blindfolded and taken to Alcatraz.  Once there, they and the other two couples worked to see who would be the quickest to escape the prison.

Ron Stoner said his kids were caught a number of times and had to begin again, but gradually worked through the perils.

Miles and Megan were contractually bound not to disclose how they did, but Ron is a proud dad.

The new show will air weekly on TNT.  It's produced by Ron Howard.
