Tanning beds and electronic cigarettes are now off-limits for Illinois teens, thanks to two new laws signed Thursday by Governor Pat Quinn.

Sponsors of the tan ban cited research showing the early use of tanning beds increases the chances of getting melanoma by 75%.

Supporters of the ban on E-cigarettes for those under 18 say that while they don't contain tobacco, E-cigarettes do contain nicotine, a habit-forming drug that causes the most common form of chemical dependence.

Both laws take effect on January 1, 2014.
