HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital has been dedicated to providing compassionate health care and serving the community since its founding by three Hospital Sisters of St. Francis in Effingham on November 15, 1875. Today this commitment continues 150 years later through the dedicated efforts of hospital colleagues and medical staff.

Throughout this year, St. Anthony’s is marking certain milestones to celebrate caring for their community for 150 years. On Thursday, March 20, the hospital’s Women and Infants Center proudly welcomed the 150th baby born at the hospital in 2025. Lucy Ann Feldhake was born to Kallee and Nick Feldhake of Dieterich, Illinois weighing 6 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20 inches long.

HSHS St. Anthony’s Women and Infants Center staff presented the Feldhakes with a basket of gifts in celebration of Lucy being St. Anthony’s 150th baby in the hospital’s 150th Anniversary year. One of the gifts included a special 150th onesie that is given to all babies born at St. Anthony’s in 2025.
