Cumberland School Board Finalizes Personnel Moves

Cumberland school board members acted on a number of personnel items at this month's meeting.

The Board accepted Carol Weiscope's letter of retirement at the end of the 2028-2029 school year; accepted Ashley Huerman's resignation at the end of the current school year; accepted Samara James' resignation at the end of the current school year; employed Lisa Harris as a Special Education teacher; employed Angie McElravy as curriculum and Title 1 Director; employed Lexie Niebrugge as middle school girls basketball coach; employed Amy Reynolds as a fulltime bus driver; and approved Mason Tipsword as a volunteer high school baseball coach.

The Board reviewed the good showing by the high school Math team at Eastern on February 22; congratulated Owen McGinnis on reaching the state wrestling tournament at the U of I and congratulated Natalie Beaumont for becoming a state wrestling champion in her weight class in Bloomington; and congratulated Alysa Dittamore for finishing sixth all-time in state girls basketball in rebounds in a season with 526.
