Herdes to Retire as South Central Superintendent

South Central school board members have accepted a letter of intent to retire from Superintendent Kerry Herdes, effective June 30, 2026.

The Board also approved Sara Rose as Assistant Superintendent for the 2025-2026 school year. Rose will then succeed Herdes as superintendent as of the 2026-2027 school year. The Board also approved Jake Skibinski as elementary principal for the 2025-2026 school year.

Board members also approved Brittany Kramer as assistant elementary principal for the 2025-2026 school year; approved leaves of absence for Amy Wilkins, Aimee Moore and Bethany Lowry; approved the resignation of Mandy Ruholl as of the end of the current school year; and approved a letter of resignation from Brittany Garrett as a certified teacher, Beta Club sponsor, and Web Tech Coordinator as of the end of the current school year.

The South Central board approved the calendar for the coming school year; renewed policies for voluntary student insurance and for catastrophic insurance; and approved ball park donations for the coming season...Kinmundy Lions Club ball field of $2,000, Village of Farina ball field of $1,000, and Kinmundy Area Sports Complex of $2,000.
