
Teutopolis Village Board Awards Oak Street Project

Teutopolis village board members Wednesday approved a resurfacing and realignment project on Oak Street.
Effingham Asphalt was awarded the project for $429,277.20. The work will include improvements to driveways along State Street.
The Board approved a plat of Pruemer and Tegeler Subdivision, and issued a liquor license to Los Arcos, a restaurant scheduled to open Saturday in the former Subway building.
Board members renewed its annual $1,000 payment to Effingham County CEO; tabled a decision on purchasing an emergency siren for the village's south side and repair the siren by the junior high school building; and donated $2,500 to the Effingham County Public Transportation System operated by CEFS.
Teutopolis board members also voted to hire Adien Niemerg, Michael Habing, Paul Huber and Jake Probst as seasonal employees, with Huber to be paid $16/hour and Niemerg, Habing and Probst to be paid $15/hour.
