Four students at Aspire High School in Effingham were guests at the March 5 meeting of the Effingham Noon Rotary Club.
Paisley Philippi, Serenity Gagliardi, Brooklyn Navarro and Gia Navarro joined Aspire Principal Amber Kidd to share about their time at the alternative school and how they have benefitted from the experience. They also shared honestly about the negative experiences in their lives, often not of their own making, and how Aspire has helped them work through those experiences. The students are finding success in school and in life. Kurt Roberts served as Rotary weekly program chairman.
Noon Rotarians also had the opportunity to meet Australian citizen David Fulwood, who as a teenager was a Rotary Youth Exchange student, staying with several local families as part of his experience in the US. Noon Rotarian Dave Ring hosted Fulwood at the meeting.
