South Central FFA Members Win Awards

Several South Central FFA members attended State Degree and Star Greenhand interviews earlier this month at the Okaw Vocational Center in Vandalia.

The State Degree is the highest honor bestowed by Illinois FFA, and less than 2% of all FFA members attain it.

Kage Hiestand, Rayce Hiestand, Colton Smith, Maddox Robb, Evan Hoover, Keira Langley, and Briar Brown were able to acquire this award.

Sophomore South Central FFA members Westin Neilson and Derek Engel interviewed to represent their record book projects and were awarded with the Section Star Greenhand award. Westin Neilson was named the Section 19 Star Greenhand in Ag Business and Derek Engel was named the Section 19 Star Greenhand Farmer.

The Star Greenhand award is for any first-year FFA members with outstanding performance with their record books that have received their Greenhand Degrees.
