Altamont Moves Ahead w/Water Main Preparations

Altamont city council members Monday took care of much of the preparatory work for a water main replacement project along Main Street, but didn't award the bid for the main replacement.

The Council received five bids on the main replacement and some of the bids were very close, so the bid award was delayed for further review.

Meanwhile, Council members approved Milano and Grunloh Engineers working on maintenance of a waterway between 6th Street and 8th Street. The affected residents have been doing the maintenance, but the City will now take over the work. The Council also allocated $103,000 in Motor Fuel Tax dollars for maintenance work in the north part of the city.

The Altamont Council approved a master services agreement with Clifton Larson Allen to perform the fiscal year audit and year end reporting for $57,540.

Council members heard that the demolition of 703 Field Street in East Meadows Subdivision should be completed in the next couple of weeks, and heard that the City Clerk's office will soon begin a Community Calendar website for Altamont.
