Two Crashes w/Injuries in City Over Weekend

Effingham city police investigated two car crashes involving injuries over the weekend.

One crash occurred at 7am Friday at Third Street and the I-57/70 exit ramp on the north end of Effingham.  Police say a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Jonathan Kuhns of Mason rear-ended a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Shelley Stuckemeyer of Altamont.

Stuckemeyer was injured, but declined treatment.  No tickets were issued.

The other crash occurred at 7:48am Sunday north of the intersection of Keller Drive and Heritage Drive.  Police say a vehicle driven by 78-year-old Harry Bivins of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 57-year-old Elizabeth Schottman of Effingham.

A passenger in Bivins' vehicle, 67-year-old Emma Bivins Temple of Effingham was injured but declined treatment.  No tickets were issued.
