Community members from the Effingham area are invited to an evening presentation discussing student online safety including cyber-bullying, sexting, harassment, cyber-stalking, grooming and false personation.
Nationally recognized child cyber crimes expert Detective Richard Wistocki will be presenting insight, strategies and resources designed to help parents combat cyber-bullying and online predators.
The presentation will take place on Monday, January 27 from 6-8pm in the Effingham High School Hearts Rock Cafe.
Parents are encouraged to take along their child's device with them for a hands-on experience.
Students at Effingham High School and Effingham Junior High School will already be attending age-appropriate presentations earlier that day. The evening version is geared towards parents and guardians. The evening presentation will focus on understanding and navigating the technology challenges today's parents are confronted with daily.
