Capital improvement projects highlighted the Stewardson-Strasburg school board Wednesday night.
The Board approved a cost deduction to Veregy of $22,000 for a maintenance building construction project, and a change order to AKRA Builders of $20,050 for that same project.
The Board approved a $50,000 maintenance grant to be used toward a junior high HVAC project; approved the HVAC project to Veregy for $140,000; and approved Figgins Electric for junior high eletrical upgrades for $35,000.
Board members also approved a new pay chart for officials, and approved a tentative tax levy with an anticipated tax rate drop from 3.69 to 3.65.
Superintendent Justin Deters reported that Fall enrollment is up 11 students; high school principal Cody McCollum shared about upcoming Homecoming events; and grade school principal Penny Hill reported on drumline and band events and shared about an Ag in the Classroom grant received by Leslie Richter.
