Two people were injured in a four-wheeler crash in Jasper County.

The crash occurred at 8:58pm Thursday in a rural area.

State police say 15-year-old Joshua Bobbitt of Willow Hill was operating the four-wheeler on a gravel road when he failed to negotiate a turn in a "Y" in the roadway.  The unit ran off the road into some tall weeds and then struck a ditch, throwing Bobbitt and his passenger, 18-year-old Leah Sthay of Newton off the vehicle.

Bobbitt was taken to Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney for treatment, while Sthay was taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana.

Bobbitt was cited for operating the vehicle improperly on a roadway.
