A 23-year-old Effingham woman has been arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies in connection with an early Saturday night stabbing of an Alma man at his home.

Laney Flowers is being held in the Marion County Jail for alleged aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and domestic battery.  She is expected to make her first appearance in court Monday afternoon.

Preliminary information from the sheriff’s department indicates the 23-year-old Alma man was stabbed three times with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute.

The alleged victim called another family member who called the sheriff’s department to report the incident.

The Alma man was transported for treatment of his injuries to Salem Township Hospital by United Medical Response.

The incident was first reported to the sheriff’s department at 5:59 Saturday evening.
