Crash Involving Semi, SUV on East Route 33; No Serious Injuries

A semi and a SUV collided on Illinois Route 33, just east of Effingham, about 9:30am Thursday. No serious injuries resulted.

Effingham County Sheriff's Office reported a vehicle crossed the centerline, resulting in the collision. The semi ended up off the highway and into a cornfield north of the roadway.

Both lanes of the highway were closed for a time after the crash, but traffic is once again moving.

Teutopolis Fire Protection District firefighters assisted on scene, along with Rural Med EMS.
