Stew-Stras Board Awards Maintenance Building Bids

Stewardson-Strasburg school board members awarded bids at this month's meeting for work on a maintenance building.

AKRA Builders was awarded the general construction bid. Veregy Performance Contractors was awarded the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural and engineering work. 

The Board heard from Superintendent Justin Deters on the tentative fiscal year budget, which will be finalized at the September meeting, and heard that the sewer project bids are out. 

Board members hired Torrie Antrim as a paraprofessional, and increased the non-certified sick leave maximum from 180 days to 240 days.
