City Police Investigating Thefts

Effingham City Police are working to solve several theft incidents in recent days.

A retail theft occurred at Walmat at 1204 Avenue of Mid America shortly after 7:30pm last Monday.  Two televisions were stolen with a total value of about $750.

Two burglaries were reported from motor vehicles.

David Houck of Effingham reported some stole a laptop computer from his vehicle while it was parked in the 1000th block of Evergreen sometime between 5pm Friday and 7am Saturday.

Carla Durre of Effingham reported her vehicle was burglarized while parked at Menard's on Avenue of Mid America between 10am and 1pm Sunday.  A purse and billfold, a cell phone, various forms of ID, keys and cash, credit and debit cards were taken.

Chad Dust of Effingham reported theft from a motor vehicle while it was parked at Gabby Goat on East Fayette.  A cooler was taken sometime between 9pm and 10:15pm Saturday.
