Property Tax Bills in the Mail

Effingham County Treasurer Steve Dasenbrock has announced the 2012 payable 2013 real estate tax bills are in the mail.

The due date for at least the first installment is Friday, August 9 and the due date for the second installment is Friday, October 11.

Payments can be made at any bank in Effingham County, by mail, or at the Treasurer's Office, which is located on the second floor of the County Office Building.  Payments can also be made online by credit card.  See the back of your tax bill for instructions for paying online.  Office hours at the County Treasurer's Office are 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday.

The total number of bills being mailed is 22,774.  The total tax extended is $42,594,114.98.

The County Treasurer's Office will assist you with any questions you may have regarding payment of your tax bill or by directing you to the proper authority regarding other questions about your tax bill.
