Cumberland school board members saw their new geothermal heating and cooling system in action at this month's meeting.
Following regular business, board members were taken on a tour of the grade school building to review the work that was done during the summer months.
Gymnasium rooftop units and locker room units were still being commissioned, but were to be operational this week.Console units in hallways and restrooms are to be installed soon.
The next project involves replacing of window panels, which is to begin shortly.
The Board also discussed upgrades to the circle drive playground, then toured the high school building.
In regular business, the Cumberland board accepted resignations from Roberta Fritts as a paraprofessional and from Caroline Kirchmar as middle school assistant volleyball coach.
The Board also awarded bids for various commodities and scheduled the district budget hearing for September 21.
