A Lake Sara area man has died, but authorities do not suspect any foul play.

66-year-old Lowell Peak was found unresponsive at the home of an acquaintance by a resident there just after 8:30am Friday.  911 was called and Shumway Fire Protection District, Effingham Water Authority police and Effingham City-County Ambulance responded.

Effingham County Coroner Duane Guffey was called to the scene at 8:54am and pronounced Peak dead at 9:15am.  An autopsy was conducted later Friday and the preliminary finding was that Peak died due to natural causes and no foul play is suspected.

Final autopsy results and toxicology tests are pending.  The investigation continues by the Effingham County Coroner's Office and Effingham Water Authority police.
