Two Crashes w/Injuries in City Wednesday

Two crashes involving injuries occurred Wednesday in Effingham.

One crash took place just before 9am at Temple and Merchant.  City police say a vehicle driven by 85-year-old Leonard Greuel of Effingham struck a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Lauren Schmidt of Effingham.

Schmidt was injured and was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.  Greuel was cited for failure to yield.

The other crash was a rear-end incident where a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Troy Gaddis of Effingham struck a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Natalie Miller of Effingham.  The crash occurred at 1910 South Banker at 2:17pm.  Miller was injured, but refused treatment.  No citations were issued.
