The Lake Land College Board of Trustees Monday agreed to a one-year lease with a local firm to secure more classroom space in Effingham.

The Board approved an agreement between the College and Mayhood Properties of Effingham.  The College is leasing a suite in the Lincolnland Building on South 4th Street.  The lease is effective July 1 in order to offer Certified Nursing Assistant classes for the fall.

Following the one-year trial, the College will reevaluate its need for the rented space.

The College has already taken steps to acquire property south of the Lake Land Kluthe Center in the Network Centre High-Tech Park in hopes of expansion when funding permits.  Kluthe is often packed with students through the course of a school week and a lack of sufficient parking is a consideration.
