Many area residents were in Springfield this week for the 2023 March for Life at the State Capitol.

The event was organized and supported by various organizations including Illinois March for Life, the Catholic Diocese of Springfield, and the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Activities Tuesday included a Mass at the Sangamon Auditorium at the U of I Springfield, a rally at the Lincoln Statue at the Capitol, and meetings with legislators, followed by times of prayer.

St. Rep. Adam Niemerg of Dieterich said he was pleased to see so many from his area make the trip like the Youth for Life group from Newton and the Effingham Area Right to Life Group.
