Teutopolis village board members discussed a proposed restaurant to be located along Route 40 on the west edge of the village.

The restaurant would be located on the south side of the highway near Meyer Oil's location.

The Board discussed whether the village could help with extending sewer service to the site, and whether the site could be a part of the Effingham/Effingham County Enterprise Zone since it is not part of the TIF District.

There was also discussion of whether a solar ordinance should be adopted. A public hearing on whether to revise the zoning regulations to accommodate a solar ordinance is expected on March 30. Any final action by the village board would likely occur in April.

Discussion of a swimming pool ordinance was delayed until a future meeting.

The Board adopted Karen Weber Subdivision, and purchased a vac/jetter truck from EJ Equipment for $108,684 using ARPA funds. It was also decided to hire four summer workers at 40 hours/week, and there was more discussion about retirement benefits for village employees.
