Altamont Council Discusses El Rancherito Lease; Improper Use of Roadway

Altamont City Council members Monday decided to renew their lease for the restaurant building at Schmidt Park with El Rancherito.

One change is being made to the lease; rather than increasing penalty for late payments on the lease by a percentage of the amount due, it was decided to set the late penalty at $200/month. The change will be effective April 1.

The Altamont council also heard from Becky Turner, who lives on Wurl Lane. The City closed the roadway, and it is no longer a thru street, but Turner said some are still using the roadway as if it was. Turner said instead of using a turnaround at the end of the roadway, people are using her driveway and continuing on their way. 

City police plan to monitor the situation.
