(CONG. MIKE BOST)

12th District Congressman Mike Bost was in Effingham Thursday, hosting an Open House at his local office.

Effingham and much of the area are now in the 12th District, which extends to the southern edge of Illinois. That's in part due to the state losing a Congressional seat because of a population drop.

Mary Miller of Oakland had represented the Effingham area for a term. Miller, though, chose to run in the new 15th District and defeated another Republican incumbent, Rodney Davis of Taylorville, for that seat.

Our Greg Sapp spoke with Bost during his time in Effingham Thursday...

Bost is beginning his ninth year in Congress. He is a Murphysboro native.
