A Wheeler man has been sentenced to six years in prison for committing burglaries at two Effingham residences in August.

47-year-old Paul A. Beville was arrested on two counts of residential burglary, as well as counts of unlawful possession of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of stolen property.

Beville took items from residences on the north side of Effingham in the early morning hours. He was taken into custody while driving a vehicle that had been taken from one of the homes. All of the property stolen from the two homes was recovered.

The residential burglary charges were dismissed in exchange for guilty pleas to burglary charges and possession of the stolen vehicle.

Beville was sentenced to six years in prison on each of the three charges, as well as one year mandatory supervised release once out of prison.
