The latest earnings figures for Illinois state employees show that nearly 600 of those workers earn more than Governor Pat Quinn.

According to the 2012 data, Rober Stanley Rupnik earned over 357-thousand dollars last year, nearly double the governor's salary. Rupnik oversees investments for the Teachers Retirement System of Illinois. Eight of the remaining top-ten non-education employees work for the state Department of Human Resources, which oversees state-run medical centers.

Governor Quinn earns just over 177-thousand dollars a year.
