Southwestern Electric Cooperative said storms that moved across southern Illinois this morning left close to 1,650 Fayette County members without power. Co-op members in Shelby County were also affected by the storm.

Members were cautioned to avoid all downed and low-hanging power lines. The lines may be energized, or become energized without warning.
