2022 Relay for Life is Friday Night

The 2022 Effingham County Relay for Life will take place this Friday night.
Relay is held each year to raise funds for the battle against cancer. This will be the 20th annual Effingham County Relay.
The event will take place at Teutopolis Junior High School and will run from 4 to 11pm.
Here's the schedule:
4pm--fundraising tents open
5pm--opening ceremonies, with the invocation by Patti Chapman of Crossroots Church, the National Anthem by Bailey Niccum, the Presentation of the Colors by Effingham VFW Post #1769, Effingham American Legion #120, and Effingham Disabled American Veterans Chapter #7, and a presentation by survivor speaker Renee McClain.
6pm--survivor ceremony and survivor lap
6:45pm--Cayla's Power Tumbling performance
7:15pm--entertainment by the Sentimental Journey Quartet
8pm--entertainment by Russ Howard
8pm--luminaria sales end
9pm--luminaria ceremony
11pm--closing ceremony
Food will be available for purchase throughout the event.
Speaking of luminaria, you can still purchase them at our studios at Fayette and Willow any weekday between 8am and 5pm. Luminaria are $10 each and can be purchased in remembrance of those who lost the battle with cancer, those now in the fight, and those who won the battle.
You can decorate the sacks with photos and messages, or we can write the name on the sack of those for whom the sack was purchased.
