John Niemerg has filed as the Republican candidate for Effingham County Circuit Clerk.
Niemerg was nominated and by unanimous vote won the party nomination during the County Republican Party Convention in Effingham. Niemerg's name will appear on the ballot during the general election on November 6.
Niemerg lives in rural Dieterich and is a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. He works in the sales department at Goeckner Brothers Chrysler/Jeep in Effingham.
Niemerg previously held training and management positions at Stevens Industries in Teutopolis. A press release indicates that Niemerg "has extensive background in creating, streamlining and amending operating and troubleshooting procedures for complex machine and technical operations."
Niemerg said the next Circuit Clerk in Effingham County should be someone who is skilled in reviewing and amending existing procedures in order to establish a "best practice" system and also feels a fresh, outside manager is needed to continue the services the Circuit Clerk's office provides.
