An infant was found dead Monday at a residence near Neoga.

Seven-week-old Levi Michael Jansen was found unresponsive by a caretaker about mid-morning Monday.  Emergency medical services were notified and the boy was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital ER where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Effingham County Coroner's Office and law enforcement authorities were notified of the death.  An initial investigation disclosed no obvious cause of death, but officials say foul play is not suspected.  An autopsy was conducted Tuesday to help determine the cause of death.

The investigation continues by the Coroner's Office, Illinois State Police and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.
