The Family Life Center of Effingham was featured at the Effingham Noon Rotary Club meeting on June 6.
The Center's Life Skills Coordinator Jackie Walker discussed the various services provided and shared some of the success stories seen as expectant mothers and fathers are given reliable information on the months leading up to the birth and care for the newborn and for the parents after the birth. There is also mentoring available for expectant mothers and fathers.
Walker acknowledged that not every client chooses life, but she is gratified by those who do.
Walker said Effingham County is a very giving area, but said as the programs offered grow in scope, there is a need for additional resources and volunteers.
Those who would like to help or would like more information should phone the Family Life Center at 342-5433 or toll-free at 800-600-2966.
Rotarian Christy Hakman served as weekly program chairman.
