Mattoon Teen Arrested with Weapon Stolen from Effingham

Police have arrested a Mattoon teen who was in possession of a firearm stolen from Effingham County.

Mattoon police arrested 19-year-old Nathaniel Riegel earlier this month.  Riegel has been charged with possession of a stolen firearm.  The charge alleges that Riegel was in possession of a nine-millimeter handgun that had been stolen from a firearms dealer in Effingham County.

Riegel is being held at the Coles County Detention Center in Charleston.
