One Person Injured in Thursday Night Crash Near Watson

One person was injured in a crash on Thursday night near Watson.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reported a car driven by 74-year-old Mary Conkling of Effingham was traveling on Funkhouser Road, a half-mile north of 800th Avenue, when the crash happened at 8:30pm. 

Deputies report that Conkling's southbound car skidded out of control, causing it to leave the roadway to the right and overturn. The driver was entrapped in the vehicle. Watson Fire Protection District assisted in extricating Conkling from the vehicle. She was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.
