Farina resident Mark Fulk is in custody for allegedly trying to hire someone to kill his wife.

The 35-year-old Fulk is being held in Fayette County Jail in Vandalia without bond.  He is charged with solicitation of murder for hire.  The charge is a Class X felony, meaning mandatory prison time if Fulk is convicted.

Fayette County State's Attorney Joshua Morrison said it's alleged the offense occurred sometime since February 1 of this year.  The information in the case alleges Fulk approached a man and offered him cash, a motorcycle, an auto shop and a house if he would kill Fulk's wife.

Fulk is due in Fayette County Court April 17 for his first appearance with his attorney.
