Full 2013 election returns are located here.

Two newcomers and a veteran were elected Tuesday to terms on the Effingham Unit 40 Board of Education.

Effingham High School graduate Steve Bone was the top votegetter, receiving 1,010 votes and longtime Unit 40 supporter Laurie King finished second with 977 votes.  King is currently a member of the Unit 40 Foundation Board and was a longtime Band Booster officer and supporter.

The veteran is Brian Wick of Summit Township who has served on the Board over most of the past 20 years.  Wick finished third in the balloting with 807 votes.

The rest of the rundown saw James Osborn receive 744 votes, incumbent Galen Altman with 707 votes, James Keith with 704 votes and K.L. Cleeton with 427 votes.

Altman will be leaving the Board, as will Brad Meinhart who did not seek re-election.

The Board's reorganizational meeting will be held later this month.
