Two people were killed in Cumberland County as the result of a Sunday morning collision involving a truck and a semi.

The crash occurred at 6:04am on I-70, three miles east of Greenup.

Illinois State Police report a truck driven by 19-year-old Ethan Angerami of Manchester, New Hampshire was traveling westbound. A semi driven by 56-year-old Rodney Rice of Chillicothe, Texas, was parked on the right westbound shoulder.

Police say Angerami's truck left the roadway to the right and struck the right rear of the trailer being towed by Rice's semi. Both Angerami and his passenger, 18-year-old John Hibbard of Libson Falls, Maine, were killed in the crash. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by Cumberland County Coroner Steven Sherwood. Rice was taken by ambulance for treatment of what were termed minor injuries.

The right westbound lane at the scene was closed for approximately seven hours Sunday during the crash investigation.

Rice has been cited for improper parking.
