Norris Electric Announces Online Outage Map

Norris Electric Cooperative is attempting to make finding electric outage information easy.  The co-op is announcing release of a new online outage map.

The aerial map shows the number of outages by county with distinctive color-coded flashing lights in the affected areas.  You can zoom in to see the outage area affected in more detail, but not so much as to invade the privacy of co-op members.

Outage details are also shown on the right-hand side of the screen, revealing the number of outages by county and the total number of consumers out of power.  The map updates every few minutes to provide up-to-date information.
