The cases against three people charged with robbery in an overnight incident in Effingham this summer have been concluded.
Mason Edinger, Brayden Aldredge and Molly Brummer, all of Effingham, were arrested following an incident that occurred just before 2:30am on July 23. The incident occurred along Keller Drive, where the three were charged with approaching an individual on foot.
One of the suspects displayed a knife, demanded money, then stole the victim's backpack and contents, then smashed the victim's cell phone and left the scene.
City police, county sheriff's deputies and state police troopers all worked with a city K-9 to apprehend the three within an hour of the incident.
The 23-year-old Edinger has been sentenced on charges of armed robbery and received a seven-year prison term. The 22-year-old Aldredge was sentenced for robbery and was given 3-1/2 years in prison. The 32-year-old Brummer was sentenced for robbery and was placed on 30 months' probation and sentenced to 120 days in jail.
