Football fans who are members of the Effingham Noon Rotary Club got a treat at the March 6 meeting.

Rotarians got to view the DVD "Remembering the Hearts: The Klosterman Years".  The video is the brainchild of local businessman Bob Smothers, who owns Sports Design and Graphics and played for legendary Hearts football coach Jack Klosterman.

"Remembering the Hearts" focuses on the 25-season era when Klosterman coached the Hearts, 1956 to 1980.  Many of those who played for Klosterman are featured in the video.

The DVDs are available for $10 each with the proceeds going to the Effingham Sportsbackers.  You can pick up a copy at Sports Design and Graphics on South Maple in Effingham.

Russ Marvel, who was principal at EHS during much of the Klosterman era, served as Rotary weekly program chairman.  The Rotary student guest was the quarterback for the most recent edition of the football Hearts, Nathan Vail, the son of Jeff and Melissa Vail and a senior at EHS.
