Dieterich village board members this month approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Dieterich school district. The agreement allows the village to grant up to $15,000 each year to the school district in lieu of tax revenue that might go to the district, but instead goes to the village's TIF District for improvements.
The village board also:
--awarded a $9,181 bid to Effingham Asphalt to extend a storm sewer to a lot in Hartke Subdivision
--agreed to sponsor the Dieterich Park District summer ball program including providing shirts and a banner
--hired Art Borries to strip, clean and wax the Civic Center floor
--and discussed covenants and restrictions to be included in the Dieterich Industrial Park East project
The Board also discussed mitigation projects that could be included in a wish list that could be funded by FEMA grant monies. Generators are on the list, along with storm warning sirens, and NOAA weather radios. There's no assurance that the grant will be approved.
