Another Arson Arrest from Shumway House Fire

Mode resident Bettyann Conner has been arrested on a charge of residential arson. It's the second arrest made in connection with a house fire in Shumway earlier this month that did more than $100,000 damage.

The arrest of the 35-year-old Conner follows the arrest of 43-year-old Derrick Kuhlman of Mode for the same offense. The house burned is that of Kuhlman's ex-wife.

Conner is charged under an accountability theory, alleging that she might not have set the fire, but was otherwise involved in the offense.

Bond for Conner was set at $500,000. Both Conner and Kuhlman are scheduled for court appearances Thursday morning.
